Austin is the Least Stressful City
A TODAY show segment that ran this week cited Austin as the least stressful of 40 cities evaluated in a Forbes study of the most stressful cities to live in. The study focused on the 40 largest metropolitan statistical areas in the United States.
Characteristics of stressful cities included unemployment figures, cost of living, population density, weather patterns and air quality figures.
Austin was considered the least stressful for reasons including a low population density, a low unemployment rate and an economy that is bolstered by The University of Texas at Austin, which is home to more than 50,000 students, 21,000 staff members and 2,900 faculty.
