The Austonian Artists Featured in Concurrent Solo Shows at d berman gallery
Sydney Yeager and Beverly Penn, two artists in The Austonian collection, will have the opening reception for their concurrent solo shows at d berman gallery today, Friday, January 28th, from 6 to 8 p.m. The show will run from January 28th to February 26th with a Gallery Talk on Saturday, February 5th at 1 p.m.
Sydney Yeager’s expressive paintings showcase her ongoing examination of fragmentation and the dissolution of the whole into singular, interdependent parts. Yeager’s painting at The Austonian, entitled “Slide,” is located in the 1st floor elevator lobby. Her show at d berman is entitled “Inclining Toward Chaos.”

Beverly Penn uses a unique and complicated casting process to create detailed, strong bronze works that appear extremely delicate. Cast from native plants and installed directly into the wall, the individual elements in her installations combine to form organic compositions of strength and beauty. Penn’s piece at The Austonian, entitled “Undertow,” is located in the lobby on the 1st floor. Penn joins Yeager at d berman with her solo exhibit “Still Nature.”

These two exhibits mark the last of those that will take place in the current location of d berman gallery near Guadalupe and 17th in Austin, Texas. After the run of these shows, the gallery will move to The Square in Wimberley, Texas.
