Meet The Austonian General Manager: Terry Arterburn
Managing a building the size and scale of The Austonian requires experience leading teams of people towards a common goal. In the case of Terry, that goal is service. For over 30 years he has worked in the hospitality industry. His most recent posts were at beachfront Texas luxury condominiums The Galvestonian and Palisade Palms.
We asked Terry a few questions about his new career at The Austonian:
What attracted you to the General Manager position at The Austonian?
I was drawn to the fact that The Austonian is the tallest residential condominium in the southwest, and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to live in Austin, the best city in Texas. I’ve also been working on the coast for the past several years, so the idea of no hurricane threats was also very appealing.
Briefly describe your job position at the building.
I will be directing The Austonian team of employees to enhance the living experience of the homeowners. I will assemble the "Best of the Best" to handle housekeeping, maintenance, social, concierge, and access control services on a daily basis. I have met several of the home owners already and it is going to be a fun job.
What’s your favorite feature/amenity at The Austonian?
The entire building, due to great planning, is my favorite amenity. Looking at all the beauty in the design of the structure, the furnishing, and the well planned things to do makes it difficult to identify just one. It is hard to choose between the theater, the Fitness Center, the Austonian Club on the 55th floor, the Spa, the outdoor kitchens, or the 75-foot lap pool adorned with 8 outdoor cabanas with TV's and all the personal services. This is truly a one-of-a-kind project. I am so thrilled to be a part of The Austonian.
What do you think residents will enjoy most about living in The Austonian?
The service they will experience in all venues on the property. It is going to be a great place to call home.
How does The Austonian compare to other luxury projects?
All I can say considering the many luxury properties I have visited and been involved with is that The Austonian is one-of-a-kind. The detail in the units to surfaces, finishes, and hardware is exceptional. The entire project is luxury to the max.
