The Texas Book Festival Comes to the Capitol October 16-17

The Texas Book Festival will take place this weekend (October 16-17) at the State Capitol Building in downtown Austin. Established in 1995 by then Texas First Lady Laura Bush, the festival celebrates authors and their contributions to the culture of literacy, ideas and imagination.

The first festival was held in 1996 and quickly evolved into one of the premier literary events in the nation, and now annually hosts over 200 Texas and nationally-known authors. The event, great for all ages, includes activities such as author readings and presentations, panel discussions, book signings and musical entertainment.
